Timber Appraisal & Harvest Management
C&M Forestry offers services of appraisal for landowners who wish to know how much value they have on the timber they own. This process involves our foresters to calculate logging and hauling prices in order to figure out how much money the landowner stands to gain. This cost is separate from our cruising costs and is charged at a rate of $500.00 per every 20 acres. 10% of logging proceeds are due as payment if timber is logged.
THE PROCESS:
1. Land owner calls and sets up an appointment to look at property.
2. Forester and landowner agree to have the property cruised separately at a cost of ($25.00 acre).
3. C&M Forestry lets landowner know if timbered acreage has enough volume to harvest after said cruise. (If cruise shows insufficient volume we will not move onto step 4).
4. If sufficient volume is cruised the forester will quote the land owners the price for appraisal according to acreage and will calculate the estimates.
5. If the land owner is happy with the estimated appraisal amount, our contract forester will help set up a logger and and log buyer at no cost to you. We charge a 10% fee on the total proceeds made from the harvested volume.
6. After harvest our contract forester is obligated to get a burn permit & burn slash piles usually the winter after harvest and will coordinate with the land owner.
